𝐃𝐈́𝐋𝐈, 𝟐 𝐝𝐞 𝐣𝐮𝐧𝐡𝐨 𝐝𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 — S.E. 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨𝐬 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐬 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐬, o Ministro dos Negócios Estrangeiros e Cooperação de Timor-Leste, recebeu a Secretária Executiva da Comunidade dos Países de Língua Portuguesa (CPLP), S.E. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐝𝐞 𝐅𝐚́𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐚 𝐉𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐦, na sua primeira visita oficial a Timor-Leste.

O encontro centrou-se nos preparativos para a próxima Reunião do Conselho de Ministros da CPLP, a realizar-se em Díli, em julho de 2026, bem como no avanço das prioridades da Presidência Pro Tempore de Timor-Leste da CPLP. As discussões abordaram a direção estratégica da Comunidade, o reforço da cooperação entre os Estados-Membros e o papel da CPLP na resposta aos desafios globais emergentes.

A Secretária Executiva, Maria de Fátima Jardim, felicitou Timor-Leste pela organização bem-sucedida das recentes reuniões da CPLP e elogiou a liderança do país e o seu compromisso com a comunidade lusófona. Destacou igualmente o percurso de Timor-Leste, desde a luta pela independência até à conquista da paz e à consolidação democrática, classificando-o como um exemplo inspirador de resiliência, construção da nação e consolidação do Estado.

Ambas as partes trocaram pontos de vista sobre a implementação da Visão Estratégica da CPLP e o alinhamento das prioridades nacionais de desenvolvimento com os objetivos globais de desenvolvimento. Reafirmaram ainda a importância de manter a CPLP como uma plataforma geopolítica e geoestratégica relevante, ligando quatro continentes através da cooperação, solidariedade e prosperidade partilhada.

O encontro reafirmou igualmente o tema da Presidência Pro Tempore de Timor-Leste, “A Consolidação do Estado de Direito Democrático: Um Desafio para a CPLP”, e destacou as comemorações do 30.º aniversário da CPLP sob o lema “Unidade na Diversidade: Uma Comunidade, Um Povo.”

A Secretária Executiva salientou que a liderança de Timor-Leste à frente da CPLP tem superado as expectativas, reforçando a visibilidade, a unidade e a relevância estratégica da Comunidade, ao mesmo tempo que promove a paz, a democracia, o desenvolvimento sustentável e a cooperação internacional em todo o espaço lusófono.

𝐃𝐈𝐋𝐈, 𝟐 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 — H.E. 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨𝐬 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐬 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐬, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Timor-Leste, received the Executive Secretary of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), H.E. Maria de Fátima Jardim, on her first official visit to Timor-Leste.

The meeting focused on preparations for the upcoming CPLP Council of Ministers Meeting in Dili in July 2026 and on advancing priorities under Timor-Leste’s Pro Tempore Presidency of the CPLP. Discussions addressed the Community’s strategic direction, strengthened cooperation among Member States, and the CPLP’s role in addressing emerging global challenges.

Executive Secretary Maria de Fátima Jardim congratulated Timor-Leste on its successful hosting of recent CPLP meetings and commended the country’s leadership and commitment to the Lusophone community. She also praised Timor-Leste’s journey from independence struggle to peace and democratic consolidation, describing it as an inspiring example of resilience, nation-building and state-building.

Both sides exchanged views on the implementation of the CPLP Strategic Vision and the alignment of national development priorities with global development goals. They reaffirmed the importance of maintaining the CPLP as a relevant geopolitical and geostrategic platform connecting four continents through cooperation, solidarity, and shared prosperity.

The meeting also reaffirmed Timor-Leste’s Pro Tempore Presidency theme, “The Consolidation of the Democratic Rule of Law: A Challenge for the CPLP,” and highlighted the 30th anniversary of the CPLP under the theme “Unity in Diversity: One Community, One People.”

The Executive Secretary noted that Timor-Leste’s leadership of the CPLP has exceeded expectations, strengthening the Community’s visibility, unity, and strategic relevance while advancing peace, democracy, sustainable development, and international cooperation across the Lusophone world.
